It’s a bird … It’s a plane … It’s Charlie the Wonderdog!

Soaring into theaters on January 16 through Viva Pictures’ Viva Kids label, audiences can sneak peek the high-flying action of the new family animated feature in a new clip shared with Animation Magazine today. In the footage, Charlie puts on his first superhero suit and takes off on an incredible flight (with a slightly embarrassing crash landing).

Produced by Canada’s ICON Creative Studios, the film voice stars Academy Award-nominated actor Owen Wilson as Charlie, a house pet whose extraterrestrial encounter turns him into a hapless hero with a big heart.

Charlie the Wonderdog (95 minutes) is directed, written and produced by Shea Wageman, written by Raul Inglis and Steve Ball, with production design by Geoff Taylor, original score by Petteri Sainio and original music by Bryan Adams, produced by Jennifer Rogan and Carson Loveday, and executive produced by Michael Balfry, Carson Loveday and Bahar Dehghanian.

Synopsis: A beloved family dog, who is mysteriously abducted by aliens and gifted true superpowers where he emerges as Charlie the Wonderdog, the greatest superhero the world has ever seen. The film explores universal themes of friendship, loyalty, resilience, power and responsibility.
